So This week I had my induction for FDA Photographic Media. I hated it. I really dislike inductions, the new kids at the school wandering around, holding the hands of their superiors as they tour the facilities. It’s really uncomfortable. The worst part is that it isn’t even over yet. I know that they are necessary, but I just want to jump straight into the deep end, learn about taking world changing photographs and create something spectacular. Maybe I’m just impatient. I’m really looking forward to this year though. I spent summer lounging around and occasionally taking a photograph. I’m lazy and impatient. However, closer to the academic year I was given the opportunity to photograph the Blackburn Festival. And I have to say, the back stage experience, an all access pass… it was fantastic. During induction one of my lecturers said that a camera is a passport to experiencing things you could never do without your trusty picture taker. And he’s right. If I hadn’t had a camera, I would have never of been able to do it. I know it’s only a small festival, but hey! Experience is experience. I’ll post an album with the photographs.
