I acquired a Canon EOS 500D, no it isn’t the greatest camera in the world, but it is perfect for beginning, which is exactly what I’m doing. Beginning. I went out around 20:30 today, the weather is overcast and I thought it would be perfect for some low light photography. I’m no expert in the field, but I’m happy with these images. Please, feel free to criticise or even give me tips! They would be greatly appreciated.

Lighting the Coop.
Destination, nowhere.
Whalley rail station.
Whalley Abbey Gates
A photo of the Abbey gates. I don’t fully understand lighting in photography yet, but I quite like the change in contrast from the light emitted from the gate.
A Proud Stray
I found this guy at the Whalley Abbey.
Flower
I saw it and shot it.
Nacho
Nacho loves attention.
Beginning to Transition
For those who have read my blog, you know that I have experimented with photography, but they were only lighting experiments for film. I am a film maker, not a photographer. This makes the transition for me extremely difficult, because I still want to be a film maker. It’s not that I don’t appreciate photography as an art form, because I do. I love photography and I love so many different genres of photography. This summer I am aiming to learn about not just the technical side of photography, but the artistic side too. I need to find my voice. Am I wild life? Landscape? Portrait? I’m not sure. However, I intend to find out.
